Houdini's StoryA true story: told by a human |
| When Houdini was just a teeny tiny kitten someone put him in a brown paper bag and threw him out onto a busy road to die. Luckly a nice women and teenage boy saw the bag on the road and grabbed it. When they opened it much to their surprise there was the cutest teeny tiny orange kitten you ever saw. The teenage boy's mom owned a daycare and had previously owned an orange cat that had died, so the boy took the cat back to his mother. She thought he was adorable but was not overjoyed about having another cat. As all this was going on I (the author of this story and the owner of this website) was just getting my daughter into the car and she ( my daughter) saw the kitten and fell in love with him. My husband and I promised our daughter that she could have a cat, but we had planned on getting one or two from my mother-in-law ( who has six cats because she took in a pregnant female who had five kittens) Well this was not to be, because as I took my daughter to and from daycare each day she would hear the cries of the kitten sitting in a cage outside on a concrete bench. As we would go by Houdini would stick out his little paw and meow. My daughter cried and begged me each day to take him home with us. I finally couldn't take it anymore and agreed to ask her daycare provider if we could have the kitten. The lady said that she would have to think about it over the weekend and would have an answer for us on Monday. Monday came (not soon enough for my daughter who had drove me crazy all weekend) and the lady agreed that we could have Houdini. So we took him home and he was overjoyed and ran around all night. Our house was a giant playground to him and he looked like a fluffly little orange rat. At night he cried to be feed, and I would get up and feed him. During the day he would nap on his back with his paws and fat belly up in the air then in the evening when we all got home he would run around sneak attacking us every chance he got. We all had scratches on our arms and legs. Now a year later he is full grown ( and he is really big !) and has a split personality, sometimes he is really sweet and other times he is like a Bobcat. |
